Region West - Title I
Welcome to Region West
As your Title I Coordinators for Region West, we look forward to working with you to provide the best educational program for our students. Our primary objective is to have a successful and rewarding school year.
The purpose of the Title I program is to assist schools in designing an effective instructional program to improve the educational opportunities of low achieving students in high-poverty areas. The instructional program should enrich and supplement the core program for all students to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education to close the achievement gaps. The resources from categorical funds should be used to extend the quality and quantity of instructional time for program participants by using a variety of instructional strategies to reduce barriers to student learning.
Title I is regulated and monitored to ensure that the federal investment has a meaningful impact on students that the program is intended to serve. We aim to align the work to LAUSD’s Core Beliefs of Equity, Collaboration, and Excellence by:
- Refining the coordination of the Federal and State programs and services.
- Aligning the work to LAUSD’s 2022-2026 Strategic Plan.
- Establishing a focus on instructional and budgeting practices to support student achievement consequently eliminating inequities.
